Green Policy

Recycling

  • In 2009 we saved the equivalent of 43 trees and 4,500kg of CO2 through recycling paper and boxes, glass, cans and plastic.  Our aim is not to increase these figures by re-using more used paper and packaging in-house.

  • Our recycling is handled by paper-round.co.uk

  • Empty printer cartridges recycled through www.recyclingappeal.com, raising money for the Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).

  • Redundant office equipment and furniture is recycled whenever possible via charities, local schools and using "freecycle-type" websites.

Office Suppliers

  • Paper. We use recycled paper for our internal office printing.

  • We use Forestry Stewardship Council certified paper for our brochures and company materials

  • Our energy saving policy ensures that our staff turn computers and office lights off overnight and our air-conditioning runs by time settings to run only when the building is in use.

Transport

  • Our fleet now boasts the addition of the Toyota Prius.  Hybrid cars run on a combination of petrol and electricity, and are substantially more fuel efficient and less polluting than standard vehicles.

  • As vehicles in our company car fleet become due for replacement, we purchase low-emission, fuel efficient vehicles, including more hybrids, whenever possible

Carbon Offsetting

There are a variety of companies and charities that offer carbon offsets.  Air travel generates Carbon Dioxide, which contributes to global warming.  Offsetting schemes calculate how much CO2 your travel has generated, and remove the equivalent amount of Carbon Dioxide from the atmosphere.  Carbon offsets are generally not expensive and are regarded by many as a good way to make your travel more ethical.
